We've seen the Monastic Village, so, on to the lakes! We make our way past the Glendalough Hotel, the only inn for some miles around, and on past the various stallholders, with their take on tat, and out the road, taking in the gorgeous views at the Lower Lake until we come to an abrupt halt at the end of the road - the car park at the Upper Lake! For a mere €4 per car, we get to park, picnic in the extensive parking area and explore the surrounds which, one has to say, are quite spectacular, and we could even take off on a long trek, on foot, through forest trails and around the lake to right back where we started from!
Enough of all this exertion - our chariot awaits!
