Branching Out

Today we see The Happy Pear, Natural Food Market, Greystones, Co Wicklow branching out for the season to dispense Christmas trees to a discerning populace.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye

Immediately after the Christmas lights were switched on in Wicklow Town, we followed Santa to the nearby Coach House where the Artisan Food Hall, part of the forthcoming Christmas At The Coach House, was open and there was Roast Pig on a Spit, Fresh Crepes and hot chocolate in the Courtyard to revive our flagging spirits.

Christmas At The Coach House will take place on Saturday & Sunday 4th/5th & Saturday & Sunday 11th/12th December.

Man, It's Organic!

There's always a buzz in the air when you pass The Happy Pear, natural food market, in the seaside town of Greystones, Co Wicklow, weather permitting that is. 

Today, actually, a couple of weeks ago, we're serenaded by this jazz player as we down our wheatgrass shots and comtemplate their upcoming Happy Heart Program.

Below left is The Happy Pear's next door neighbour, A Caviston, fishmonger, delicatessen and café.

Theme Day - Open Air Market

Today, we return to the monthly market at Macreddin Village, Co Wicklow for our September 1st  Open Air Market feature on City Daily Photo Theme Day.  Above we see Teach Hilda's market stand specialising in the import of organic foods from southern Italy.

Green Day - Reprise

Maybe a nice little Chianti to wash down those organic fava beans!

Green Day - Slight Return

BrookLodge & Wells Spa, Macreddin Village, Co Wicklow boasts the only Certified Organic restaurant in Ireland - The Strawberry Tree - but it also hosts the Macreddin Village Organic Market held on the first Sunday of each month from April to October. Stall holders come from all over for this very special market held in idyllic surroundings.

Sit back and enjoy the incredible sandwich of organically reared pork roasted on the spit while hens wander round the grounds feeding naturally from whatever they find.

Green Day

A few minutes from Aughrim we find the very green Brooklodge & Wells Spa, Macreddin Village, Co Wicklow. Here for the farmers' market but just missed a wedding at the chapel pictured left.  Below, the view from the little bridge:

A Discerning Bird

Only the choicest grapes for our little friend caught sampling the wares at The Happy Pear, food market, Greystones, Co Wicklow.  In the background is A. Caviston, fish shop, delicatessen and café.
