Djouce II
This is Djouce Mountain as viewed from the road between Roundwood and Enniskerry, County Wicklow.
In 1946, a JU-52 flying from Le Bourget in Paris to Dublin, and carrying a party of 23 French Girl guides and 4 crew, crash landed into the mountain in a raging storm having got lost in cloud. Though some of the passengers and crew were injured, all had somehow managed to survive, and the aircraft was more or less intact allowing at least some shelter from the storm. One of the girls managed to find her way down and raised the alarm at a nearby hotel and so all were rescued.
