Meanwhile, we're back in Aughrim, Co Wicklow for another look at the post match scenes from the Wicklow County Senior Football Championship Final played on Sunday last and won by Rathnew against a lacklustre Baltinglass side.
Ok, so we've invaded the pitch, after the match, so that we can acclaim our heroes and in the main picture above, among a sea of red and green, we see Steven Byrne, the Rathnew captain, wallowing in the acclaim of the large contingent of Rathnew supporters who, it must be said, provided a dizzying display of colour, which very much enhanced the spectacle of the occasion.
But these young girls were so disappointed to learn that their photo wasn't going to be published in some newspaper! Surely they know that cyberspace is way cooler?
And, did I mention colour?
Let it not be said that the Rathnew supporters came unprepared, and they released these before the match even started!
But wait, is nothing sacred? This is the GAA, yes, the Gaelic Athletic Association which has a presence on all five continents, this is Aughrim, Co Wicklow - this is not South Africa!
