Misty Mountain Hop

Today, heading west to east across Wicklow from Hollywood to Laragh we take the road known as the Wicklow Gap, one of only two routes crossing the Wicklow Mountains, the other being the Sally Gap in North Wicklow.  It's a very popular tourist route because it meanders through some spectacular scenery, but today it's cold, wet and miserable and the mountains are shrouded in mist but, even so, there's still a certain magic in the air.

'So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains
        where the spirits go now,
over the hills where the spirits fly.'
- Jimmy Page , John Paul Jones , Robert Plant

Beautiful. But I think there is always at least one beautiful moment when you cross the Wicklows, irish weather or not irish weather.
