Rock Armour

The unattractive, but necessary, rock armour coastal protection on this stretch of the North Beach, Wicklow Town, narrows the beach and spoils the view south towards the harbour and to the north along the coast towards Newcastle.

Rocky IV

Continuing our 'Rocky' series and still on the beach at the European Club golf links I like this shot of the surf crashing against the rocks just off the beach.

Folowing on from yesterday's post, here's a closer view of the Arklow Bank Wind Park as we look over this rock just off the beach at the European Club, near Brittas Bay, Co Wicklow.

Rocky II

Facing east from the rocky end of the European Club beach, near Brittas Bay, Co Wicklow you can just about see the seven wind turbines of Arklow Bank Wind Park on the horizon.

Rocky

Today we're on the beach which runs alongside the famous golf links of the European Club, near Brittas Bay, Co Wicklow.  It's a beach that's not easily accessible to the non-golfer/daytripper, i.e., no easy parking plus a muddy walk from the roadside to the beach, but, once there, we can walk north along the pebble beach, with it's all year round sea anglers, or, as we did, head towards the much more interesting and rocky southernmost end to bring you this view.

This is the first of what will be an ongoing 'Rocky' series and, today, we look north, over the rocks above and along the full length of the beach to Mizen Head.
